Reigning Heisman trophy winner versus reigning national champions. The battle between Louisville’s electric offense and Clemson dominant defense will make this game very intriguing. Reigning Heisman winner Lamar Jackson hasn’t put his foot on the pedal as he cruised by the University of North Carolina with six touchdowns. Kelly Bryant, Deshaun Watson’s successor, impressed the nation as he led Clemson in a 14-6 nail-bitter over Auburn. The major emphasis for Clemson’s defense is to contain Lamar Jackson. If they could contain Jackson and force trap him into taking ten-yard losses, Kelly Bryant will have a simple task and can tire the Louisville defense. Although Louisville has not been testing by a team of Clemson’s skill, I expect Louisville to take a two-touchdown lead at the half. Dabo Swinney will make some halftime shifts to help the reigning national championship make a strong push. However, I believe Clemson will fall short and lose by a field goal.
Projection: Louisville 30 Clemson 27
