DGB’s high school career was lit. Standing at over 6 feet tall as a freshman, he caught 37 passed for 801 yards and 13 touchdowns at Hillcrest High School in Missouri. He followed that up with 66 catches for 1616 yards and 23 touchdowns. In 2010, Rivals awarded DGB with the High School Football Junior of the Year after a season of 78 receptions, 1706 yards and 15 touchdowns. His senior year was simply absurd: 119 receptions, 2233 yards, 24 touchdowns. DGB became the national all-time leader in receiving yards for high school. As a five-star recruit, DGB decided to take his talents to Missouri. That’s where the fun started.

On the field, DGB was scoring almost as many TDs as hot babes. In his two seasons, he totaled 17 touchdowns. However, DGB’s fun was stopped short when he and three teammates were arrested for marijuana possession in October of 2012. Then, DGB got caught again and was released from the Missouri team. But DGB was persistent to bring his talents to the National Football League and decided to enroll in the draft.

In the NFL combine this weekend, DGB pulled off an impressive feat. At 6’6’’, 270 pounds, he was able to accomplish a sub-4.5 40 yard dash, he got 13 reps of the bench press, and a 34 inch vertical jump. DGB surely has a fantastic career ahead of him, as long as he stays out of trouble. But I’m giving him my vote of confidence– and that’s why he’s my athlete of the week.
